On Tuesday 12th April, Labour leader Carwyn Jones addressed over 150 students from our Bridgend and Pencoed campuses, and answered a wide range of questions about issues affecting young people today including housing, health, student finance, the welfare system, employment and immigration. This meeting came about as a result of Hayley Townsend of the College’s Student Council contacting his office. As Hayley explains “I feel it’s important that the students are aware of the upcoming election and have the opportunity for their voices to be heard. I invited Carwyn to address our students as I knew he lived in Bridgend and because his party has been influential in securing student finance in the past.”
