bvillage Education Centre

Welcome to the bvillage Education Centre

Are you interested in a career as a Research Associate, Forensic Examiner or Chemistry Analyst then you've come to the right place. In the Bridgend College bvillage Education Centre you can find out information on courses in General Education & Skills and chat to other people who you may be studying with in September.

The General Education department offers part-time GCSE courses (English and Mathematics) and AS/A2 Level programmes in Law, Psychology and Film Studies, which are not available in local Comprehensive Schools, provided to school pupils through our Option T, learning skills network provision. Sign Language is also offered by the department, with classes taught by staff from our Specialist Support Centre.

This is along with vocational programmes such as Forensic Science, Environmental and Applied Chemistry.

Pre-Vocational Education

The Pre-Vocational Education Department at Bridgend College provides courses for school leavers and young people with learning difficulties, who would like to improve their skills and confidence in a supported setting.

Essential Skills

Essential Skills courses give students the chance to 'brush up' their reading, writing and number skills, and develop English language skills for speakers of other languages.

Essential Skills courses are offered in Bridgend College at the Bridgend and Maesteg Campuses as well as at many centres in the community.

Welsh for Adults

Bridgend College, in partnership with the University of Glamorgan, provides a wide range of Welsh for Adults classes under the umbrella of the Glamorgan Welsh for Adults Centre. The Welsh for Adults Team at Bridgend College offers courses which meet either once or twice a week in the area's main towns, Maesteg, Pencoed and Bridgend, in addition to courses in a number of villages.

Courses are held at various times of the day and at all levels within the National Framework (Entry, Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced). This framework offers a clear progression route to take you from a complete beginner to a fluent speaker.
